The story

A moving comedy about creating community and finding family. From the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright of In the Heights comes a touching comedy set in a local bar where everyone knows your name - and your business. The regulars at Daphne’s Dive are a band of outsiders; among them an offbeat artist, eccentric activist, ambitious businessman, retired biker, abandoned teenager, and Daphne’s vivacious sister. Over the course of nearly twenty years, they drink, dance, grieve, and rejoice together.

*This production is part of Dobama Theatre’s 26/27 Season. Memberships for the 26/27 Season go on sale April 7, 2026. Single tickets will be available in August 2026.

“CRITICS’ PICK!
...feels at times like a throwback to television comedies of an earlier era…. And like the characters on ‘Cheers,’... the regulars at Daphne’s make up an informal family whose triumphs and troubles we come to sympathize with.”
