Ricky Ortega

Ricky Ortega (FRANCISCO), he/him - is a theatre artist and historian based in Cleveland. Performing credits in the Cleveland theatre community include Near West Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre/Teatro Público de Cleveland, the Beck Center for the Arts, Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA program, and Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center. He holds a BA in History from Kent State University, where his research concentrated on the historical context and cultural impact of musical theatre. Ricky also holds an MS in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University. He is the creator, producer, and host of Pocket Dramaturg, a theatre history podcast dedicated to uncovering forgotten stories and illuminating the voices and moments that have shaped theatrical history. @pocket_dramaturg
